We’ve lived it!
You ride an e-bike in the city, to commute or for leisure, enjoying the freedom of skipping traffic, smooth journeys and respect for the environment… BUT once you arrive, you know the parking constraint too: leaving the battery on the bike means risking theft. Yet carrying a heavy battery can be a real ordeal.
We started from a simple observation: e-bike batteries rarely have an integrated handle. They are heavy, very heavy. Dropping one risks damaging it. And above all… there is (almost) nothing to carry an e-bike battery easily and effortlessly.
With more than 240,000 urban and cargo e-bikes sold in France in 2025, this question has become a mass problem.
The theft and security dilemma
Let’s be honest: carrying an e-bike battery is a hassle. Between 3 and 5 kg of compact technology that you end up holding at arm’s length like a brick, in the street, in office corridors or on the stairs. The result? A sore back, tired arms and a style in need of a rethink.
And leaving the battery on the bike in the street means risking theft. An e-bike battery represents a large share of the bike’s value (around €600 to €800). Removing the battery is the only effective way to secure your bike and deter thieves.
To avoid this, many people slip it into their bag. But between the laptop, the gym kit, the groceries, the children’s school bag…, you now need an XXL hiking backpack just to fit this heavy, dirty block that can damage your belongings.
